Crêpes Fantastique is a Watford-based catering business established since 2012, when it was called Master Crêpes.
When you train to become a chef specialised in crêpes in Brittany, home to the oldest crêpe school in the world, you become a “Maître Crêpier”. This translates into “Master of the Crêpes”, hence the origin of our name. In 2020, we rebranded as Crêpes Fantastique to reflect the amazing feedback we have had from customers over the last eight years.
We have the experience of hundreds of markets and events of all sizes all over London. You might have seen us at Greenwich Market, University College London, Piccadilly, Canary Wharf or West Hampstead. Or perhaps amongst other villages, towns and cities in nearby counties, such as the Harpenden Farmers’ Market and Oxbridge University balls. We also have an extensive portfolio of experience for private catering from celebrations in your home to weddings and corporate events.
ABOUT CRÊPES MASTER MATHIEU
In Brittany, where our founder Mathieu Verger was born and raised, the art of the Crêpe is sacred!
Mathieu is the Founder and Managing Director of Crêpes Fantastique (formerly MasterCrêpes). During his 13 years spent working in French television, he directed a weekly cooking program called “Le Breton Gourmand”. He met a different Michelin Star chef almost every week and learned so much first-hand from them, from techniques to recipes.
Mathieu, a self-proclaimed foodie, has always had a huge passion for food. His mother, a true “Cordon Bleu”, taught him all the basics growing up in Brittany.
And finally when he decided to start as a “Crêpes Master” (traditionally someone who makes crêpes in France is a Master or “Maître” not a chef) he went back to the oldest crêpe school in Brittany to be properly trained. He opened the first MasterCrêpes stall in 2012.

Crêpes Fantastique is a fully registered company awarded annually with 5-star rating by our local authority. Our equipment complies with all the regulations and is tested every year. We constantly strive to achieve the highest Health and Safety standards at anytime. Crêpes Fantastique is proud to be an NCASS (Nationwide caterer association) member. All of our safety documents are accessible anytime and can be checked on the NCASS website. All of our staff are trained via the NCASS training program and hold as a minimum a Food Hygiene Level 2 or 3 certificate.
